“After teaching hundreds of trumpet players and witnessing their struggles, I can say with certainty that the majority of young and new players are going about it all wrong, at no fault of their own. My hope is that this website will fill that void with reliable trumpet information and encourage those who play the instrument to be well-informed.”

Estela Aragon (she/her) is a trumpet instructor, entrepreneur, masterclass artist and performer. She is the founder, educator and owner at TrumpetHeadquarters.com and MusicFitAcademy.com, two different trumpet programs with the missions of teaching the trumpet to students of all ages and experience levels, through well-founded pedagogical approaches and methods. She has spent her post-graduate school years researching trumpet pedagogy, teaching and innovating.

An ambassador for the art of education, Estela maintains a full-time private trumpet studio through Music Fit Academy; a lesson program driven by athletic thinking, where pupils “workout” to achieve their highest potential. In 2018, she founded the Trumpet Headquarters to serve the trumpet community with an extensive lineup of complementary resources.

The website went on to include the THQ Trumpet Lessons Online course; a recognized achievement in quality online trumpet education which was featured in the October 2022 issue of the acclaimed International Trumpet Guild Journal. The journal hailed her course as “an invaluable resource for trumpet players of all levels.”

Today, she is honored to be a preliminary judge for the National Trumpet Competition and the ITG competitions and a music mentor for the International Women’s Brass Conference.

Estela’s ample experience in music entrepreneurship is often sought-out by podcasts, music programs and conference panels including the Oklahoma State Trumpet Studio, the Shenandoah University Music Entrepreneurship program, the BrassChix annual gathering, the Denis Wick Artist Summit, the TMEA – Mouthpiece Neophobia panel, the Denis Wick Women in Brass panel, the Diversify the Stand podcast and the Musician’s Perspective podcast. She is also a member of the ITG Inclusion and Diversity Committee, where she is an agent of change in support of equality.

Originally from Lima, Peru, Estela now resides in the vibrant city of Orlando with her fiancée and husky. She holds a Master in Trumpet Performance degree from the University of South Carolina School of Music and a Bachelors of Music and Trumpet Performance degree from the University of Tampa. Her former instructors include Aric Brian, James Ackley and Allen Vizzutti.
