Learn to Play the Trumpet, One Habit at a time
Step out of the endless scroll of random tips and onto a clear, structured path, with an expert teacher by your side.
Does this sound like you?
new to trumpet playing
Never picked up a trumpet, or wondering if it is too late to start? It isn’t. Trumpet Habits starts you at the very beginning, with a step by step path that builds the right habits from day one, including reading sheet music so you are never guessing what a note on the page means.
coming back after years away
You played years ago, and you are ready to pick it back up. Maybe you even tried it on your own, and quickly realized it’s not as easy as it used to be, or your embouchure feels off. Shake off the rust, find the level that fits you now and start making music you enjoy again.
Self taught and wanting structure
You can play, but practice feels scattered: no clear routine, gaps in your fundamentals, and uncertainty about what to work on next. You often play random material and feel unaccomplished. Trumpet Habits gives you a graded system, so you can practice confidently knowing progress is around the corner.

years of playing don't equate real skill
Most players who taught themselves for 3 years or more assume they are further along than they actually are. In reality, most self-taught players with six years of experience are still sitting at level 3-4 out of 9, held back by bad habits and incorrect embouchure setups that went unfixed.
Trumpet Habits builds a solid embouchure and tackles missing fundamentals, so nothing gets skipped and nothing has to be relearned later.
nine levels, one clear goal
Most online learning leaves you to piece together a hundred disconnected videos on your own. Trumpet Habits gives you a single graded curriculum instead. Start wherever you are, and every routine, song, and lesson is part of a system that builds strong habits to support progress. You will always know what to play next. Music theory is woven in alongside your playing, so if you never learned to read music, you’ll pick it up naturally as you go.
Trumpet Habits is in beta. Grades 7 through 9 will release between October and November 2026. If you have any questions about timing or access, just reach out, I’m happy to help.

Estela Aragon

I am a trumpet player, just like you. I hold a Master of Music degree and performed at a professional capacity for 17 years. Today, I’m a trumpet education specialist and teach as a Denis Wick Artist. My research of over a decade has been on embouchure building and practicing, but I mention that only so you know the teaching here is backed by real experience.
I’ve been teaching adults for well over a decade, seeing them struggle for years without a clear path, and that is exactly why I built Trumpet Habits: a structured, step by step way to grow on this instrument, enjoy the process, and make music you like.
"Trumpet Headquarters is an invaluable resource for trumpet players of all levels who are looking for a guided and comprehensive course addressing all the fundamentals of the instrument. Any trumpet student is sure to benefit from the resources, video tutorials and support."

never practice into the void
Ask my students what they value most and the same two things come up: the structure, and knowing someone is actually watching their progress. Here’s how you get feedback and support along the way:
- Progress Tracking: clear markers along the way that show you're not just practicing, you're progressing.
- Video Feedback: post a clip of your practice and get feedback directly from Estela, so you always know exactly what to work on next.
- LIVE Sessions: coming October 2026, weekly live Q&A sessions where you can bring your questions directly to your teacher.
- Community: a dedicated space to post sheet music, ask questions, and celebrate milestones with other students.
- Momentum Tools: everything you need to stay on track, identify bad habits, and keep showing up even when motivation is low.
- Daily Practice Routines: no more wondering what to play or why. Every session has a clear purpose, mapped out for you.
